The advertising model of social platforms incentivizes endless feeds, addictive algorithms, and other dark patterns.
Parallel is a new social media company trying to change all that.
I worked with the Parallel team to design a more sustainable social media experience. I led user interviews, gathered research from experts and influencers, and helped identify simple, impactful features for the project. I then designed the app, produced prototypes, and refined the solutions through further user testing. I also helped manage the development team while they built the product.
